Vista Guapa is thrilled to announce the First Annual YOLO “Girls Gone Sup’n ” Stand up paddle and Yoga Camp  for Spring of 2012. This unique experience will be led by YOLO Elite Team rider Darian Boyle. Darian is a muti-sport phenom and travels the world as a YOLO ambassador, an accomplished surfer and a World Champion Skier. There is not a better host to Mardi Gras SUP fun – on and off the water – with mellow magical water sessions, nature excursions, spa treatments, yoga, a taste of excellent local cuisine and the natural beauty of the unique Costa Rican ecosystem. This warm water Costa Rican camp is suited for ALL types of paddlers. We will specialize in promoting proper SUP paddle technique and introduction to SUP Surfing and on perfectly formed, forgiving breaks all balanced with Darian’s favorite land activities. The itinerary is thoughtfully designed with fun, friendship and fitness wrapped in the famous Vista Guapa vibe. From flat water paddling to the gentle rolling waves at South Jaco, to Darian’s favorite sunset dinner spots, this SUP camp is perfectly situated at Vista Guapa.

The free day in the middle of the itinerary can be as restful or adventurous as you like. For those seeking to soothe their aching muscles, there are spa services. But Costa Rica offers so many things to do from mountain biking to exploring the Manuel Antonio National Park for a day of hiking, horse back riding, zip lining, fishing and even a monkey-spotting excursion!

The camp will begin on Saturday February 25th with a “Girls Gone Sup’n” welcome party at the main cabin once everyone gets settled in. The 5 night / 6 day trip will include double occupancy accommodations, breakfast, light lunches and scrumptious dinners at local favorite restaurants. Airport transfers to/from the easily accessible Juan Santamaría airport are included (airfare is not included).

Each participant will receive a Surprise Welcome Pack filled with special goodies.

PURA VIDA!!

As a returning guest at Vista Guapa, I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful hospitality. My week at the camp, as expected, was relaxing and a great balance of activity and downtime. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. It truly feels like I’m visiting family. The surf sessions were great, especially the early morning glassy conditions. David and Alvaro gave me instruction when needed and made sure I kept my wave count high! One particular highlight was the introduction to stand up paddle surfing, a great, if humbling, beginning.

As always, breakfasts were delicious, from fruit smoothies to the special oatmeal with cloves and cinnamon. The accommodations were clean, quiet, and the view from my room was both calming and breathtaking. My biggest concern now is figuring out how to arrange my next trip to Vista Guapa! Pura Vida.

Surfing Camp at Vista Guapa ROCKED! There’s nothing better than a great coach to help you learn something new or improve something you’re good at. It was an honor to have Alvaro Solano teach me how to surf. He holds eight Costa Rican surfing champion titles and loves to teach! He gave me complete guidance on every step of the process, and I caught a whopping seven waves the first day — six of which I stayed upright on! Many people don’t catch and ride a wave until after several days of lessons. I credit Alvaro’s great coaching! My friends said I needed proof that I surfed (doubters!), so, I’ve included a photo on this page.
